I’m Alec Misinkavitch, a painter with a design background. I currently work and live in my hometown of Philadelphia, PA, where I maintain a constant and ever-evolving painting practice. My work explores memory through paintings of repetitive colors, lines, and shapes. 

Each painting is composed of a hand-drawn pencil grid guided by a straightedge. The color pattern is assembled in my head, often taking days to be fully realized. The pattern is not always consistent, it very often changes as I move along. I embrace the subtle imperfections, I enjoy the meditative quality of repetition, and I cherish the solitude my work allows me.
